BJSA Competitive Wrestling

BJSA's Wrestling program is broken down into two groups: (1) Novice Wrestling and (2) Varsity Wrestling. Most varsity wrestlers are products of BJSA's own novice program.

Structured for the more competitive wrestler, the varsity wrestling program is designed to enhance the individual wrestler's abilities in a structured environment. Youth ages 6-14 practice three weekday nights and wrestle in tournaments on the weekends. Practices begin in late November and the season concludes in late March. Registration fee includes the use of a singlet for the season. Tournament costs are not included. Varsity wrestlers are expected to wrestle in at least 2 tournaments per month throughout the wrestling season.

Practices:

Practices will begin on Monday, November 28. The Bulldogs will Practice on Mon, Tues., and Thurs from 6-7:30pm. NO PARENTS WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE WRESTLING ROOM DUE TO LACK OF SPACE AND CONCERNS FOR THE WRESTLING MATS. If your wrestler is not able to make practice we ask that you Call BJSA.

Parent's Mtg.:

The parents meeting is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, December 1 at 6:15pm at BJSA. It is imperative that a parent Attend this meeting.

Uniforms:

Singlets will be handed out on Tuesday, December 1 after the parents Meeting. There will be a $30.00 deposit on each singlet handed out. NO EXCEPTIONS!! This deposit will be refunded at the end of the Season as long as the singlet is clean and in good condition. Lost Sinlgets will cost $80.00 to replace.

Tournaments:

The Bulldog Wrestling Team will attend at least one Tournament every weekend. It is your responsibility to Register, pay the required fee and provide transportation for Your wrestler. It is required that ALL wrestlers attend at Least two tournaments a month in order to be eligible for Huskerland. NO EXCEPTIONS. Tournament information Will be provided the week prior to the scheduled Tournament.

Fundraiser:

If wrestlers chose payment option 1, that means you must Sell 20 raffle tickets which sell for $1.00 each. Tickets will Be handed out in January. More information will be provided At a later date. There may also be an additional fundraiser for The Huskerland Wrestlers and Coaches.
