BJSA Basketball

Youth in grades K-8th may participate in this low key program. Emphasis is placed on learning the skills, good sportsmanship, participation and having fun. Practices during the week with games played on weekends and some weeknights. Registration fee includes a game jersey.

Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd Grade 3rd & 4th Grade 5th & 6th Grade 7th & 8th Grade.

BJSA will also attempt to add 3-4 and 5-6 grade girls basketball.   If there is enough players registered these teams will play in the YMCA League.

November 15 - Registration Begins

Mon., Jan., 8  - Opening Night 1st-2nd Grade 6:00pm

Tues., Jan., 9  - Opening Night 3rd-4th Grade 6:00pm

Thurs., Jan., 11 - Opening Night 5th-6th Grade 6:00pm

Mon., Jan., 15 - Opening Week of Practice

Jan., 27/28 - Opening Weekend of Games

Season ends mid to late March, depending on division

*There is no Opening Night for the K/7th-8th Grade Divisions

*Opening Night is held at BJSA, 1001 High School Drive

BJSA has a scholarship program for families that need financial assistance.  Please contact BJSA to see if you qualify.  

Please note:  A $30.00 administrative fee will be

charged for players deciding not to play after teams

have been divided.  There are no guarantees for special requests.

What BJSA expects from you!

  • Getting your child to games & practices

  • Offer to help the coach whenever possible

  • Positive reinforcement during games & practices

  • Be a positive role model

  • Encourage your child no matter the outcome of the game

  • Support your coach by letting him coach

  • Cheer both teams on good plays

  • Only shout positive comments

  • Support & respect the game officials, even if you disagree with a call
